Baca County Colorado is located in the far southeast corner of Colorado. We are bordered by Kansas on the east and New Mexico and Oklahoma on the south. The county contains the communities of Campo, Pritchett, Springfield, Two Buttes, Vilas, and Walsh. For more information visit: County Website

Campo

Campo, Colorado, was established during the first fifteen years of the 20th century, the town has long been known for its hospitality and community spirit. The locals care about Campo's past and future and are doing their best to preserve both for future generations. For more information visit:

Pritchett

Located 16 miles to the west of Springfield, Pritchett is a small town with a big heart. With about 140 residents, Pritchett offers the safety of a small town with the nearby convenience of larger Springfield.

Springfield

The most populous town in Baca County, Springfield is also the county seat. It was settled in the late 1880's by Frank Pierce Tipton who came to Colorado by way of Springfield, Missouri in a covered wagon. For more information visit:

Two Buttes

Two Buttes is one of the smallest incorporated "cities" in the state. The population in the town is about 50, however many buildings and structures remain from its heyday when the population was around 2000. The town was founded under the formation of the dam at Two Buttes creek making Two Buttes Reservoir and was officially incorporated in 1911. Today the reservoir is used by local county residents for boating, canoeing and jet skiing when the water level allows. For more information visit:

Vilas

Vilas, Colorado is a statutory town located about 11 miles from the county seat of Springfield. Originally platted in 1887, Vilas was historically a cattle ranching town that survived the dust bowl days and once competed for the county seat. Today Vilas is a small but thriving town that is home to approximately 120 residents and a K-12 School.

Walsh

Has a population of 546 as of the 2010 census. There is a community owned store that is thriving and is open 7 days a week with 14 employees and a K-12 school system. For more information visit:
